The pool industry has experienced a massive increase in chemical costs over the past 3 seasons. The Spring Booster covers the increased chemical usage in the 5 hotter summer months each year. This strategy enables us to care for your pool with not only increases in maintenance chemicals, but also any algaecides, pool salts, cyanic acid boosters, potassium oxidizers, calcium and phosphate controls and will help keep monthly rates for the remainder of the year reasonable.

Winter Hibernation

During the winter months where the water temps drop below 50 degrees and the Sun is at its lowest, water chemistry changes and small adjustments to the pH and alkalinity are made. Colder water is more corrosive and therefore must be managed in order to reduce damage to pool equipment. Additionally, throughout this season Algae will typical lay dormant and not bloom. Lower levels of sanitization are required and the main focus is directed towards managing the corrosiveness of the water. As Winter progresses, small amounts of organic debris called Phosphates gradually accumulate in the pool. Algae feed on Phosphates and when the warm temperatures and sunlight return and then

will start to bloom.

Transitioning into Summer may include several treatments such as:

Heavy Shock treatments, Potassium treatments (helps water clarity and chlorine effectiveness) Phosphate removal, Algaecide, Salt additions, Calcium and stain sequestration, Cyanaric acid additions/continued treatment throughout Summer, pH and Alkalinity reduction
